Approach

DDP works with its professional emergency response partners and affiliates to provide education and resources to local community groups, resident organizations and other non-profits focused on emergency preparedness and response. 

Our partners include CERT trained and certified responders, community radio broadcast facilities, and emergency radio operators with decades of experience.

DDP partners with WHCR 90.3 FM to broadcast emergency preparedness and response information over the community FM radio station

Harlem Emergency & Information Network

HEN has partnered with DDP since 2015 to provide emergency communications services, including mobile radio and emergency preparedness training

Community Emergency Response Team

DDP has partnered with the CERT and WHCREBT since 2012 in the production of the annual Harlem Emergency Preparedness Day event and related educational activities

HARLEM EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS DAY

 

Every year since 2012, following Hurricane Sandy, Digital Divide Partners, in partnership with the WHCR Emergency Broadcast Team, WHCR 90.3 FM Radio, CERT and others have hosted HARLEM EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS DAY as an event to educate and inform the Harlem community about emergency preparedness. Event participants and sponsors have included Harlem Hospital Center, FEMA, New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM), the NYC Fire Department, City College Public Safety, PSA 6, the Red Cross, NYC Health & Hygiene, and others.
